El Galleon, Philippines |
|
Due to arrival times in Manila, we
will spend the night in a nearby hotel in the city. About noon we
will be picked up and transported 2 hours south by van then one more
hour by boat to Puerta Galera.
This resort is located in a bay. There is a beach to the south that fronts the little village that is Puerta Galera. There is a boardwalk that stretches along the waterfront of the entire bay. Small resorts and eating establishments scatter along the water. The roads start 1/4 mile to the south. This is a pretty basic area. There is no shore diving. Some of the diving is done in the bay directly in front of the resort area. There are many wrecks here in various depths and stages of disintegration. The Mandarin night dive is here also. We will also visit Verde Island - The marine preserve just off shore.

The resort is built into the
hillside. Rooms are surrounding the pool on the lower level or
